Aiyedatiwa Vows to Implement Ondo Seaport Project if Re-elected

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has pledged to prioritize the implementation of the Ondo Seaport project if re-elected. He made this commitment during his campaign tour in Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area, ahead of the party's governorship primary in the state. Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of the seaport as a legacy project of the former governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and vowed to sustain it for the state's economic growth.

Responding to requests from religious leaders, Governor Aiyedatiwa also addressed the issue of power supply in the Southern senatorial district of the state. He noted that progress has been made, with the project being 98% completed. He assured that his administration would assist in procuring meters to resolve the challenges faced by the BEDC, enabling the restoration of power to the district.

During his tour, Governor Aiyedatiwa received a warm welcome from the people of Ilaje, Odigbo, and Okitipupa. He expressed gratitude for their support and urged party members to ensure they have their membership and voter cards ready for the upcoming election. Party leaders and stakeholders across the three local government areas reaffirmed their support for the governor, endorsing him as the preferred candidate of the party.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also visited traditional rulers in Odigbo and Okitipupa, expressing his commitment to harnessing the natural resources in the southern senatorial district for the state's development. He pledged to prioritize the traditional institution in his governance and thanked party loyalists for their unwavering support, promising to continue the good governance he has initiated.

Additionally, the governor welcomed former Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ogundeji Iroju, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for Iroju's decision and assured him of a united front in achieving success at the upcoming primary.
