The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, has passed away. He died in the early hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja, Lagos State.
According to sources close to the family, Ayilara had undergone prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday. Unfortunately, he succumbed to complications from the procedure just hours later.
A family member expressed the deep sorrow felt by those close to him, stating, "We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother, and family member, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead."
