Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has visited the family of the late make-up artist, Abigail Frederick, who tragically passed away alongside Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, in a boat accident in Anambra State. During his visit, Governor Eno expressed his condolences and offered compensation to the grieving family.
According to a statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno displayed compassion towards the family of the deceased. He announced that the compensation package includes automatic employment for the elder sister of Abigail, renovation of the family house to modern standards, and promised assistance to the undergraduate sisters who are studying at the University of Uyo.
In his visit to the family compound of the late make-up artist in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area, Governor Eno sat with the grieving family members and empathized with them. He expressed sadness over the untimely death of Abigail, a 24-year-old who had completed her Youth Service and was pursuing her passion.
Governor Eno emphasized the importance of supporting and encouraging young people to pursue their passions. He stated, "You are not just the governor when people are celebrating. In times and moments like this, you become the mourner-in-chief and give them hope." He assured the family that the government would be with them and provide support during this difficult time.
