Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have expressed concern over an alleged plot by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to manipulate the party's primary scheduled for April 20th. The Ondo APC leaders, represented by the Ondo Vanguards for Good Governance, have accused Governor Aiyedatiwa of producing fake membership registers and cards for the party's primary.

Evangelist Tade Ojo, the coordinator of the group, disclosed in Akure that fake membership slips of the APC had been printed for distribution to individuals who are not party members. He stated that this move by Aiyedatiwa's supporters to either rig or discredit the primary election stemmed from their fear of impending defeat.

Ojo emphasized the need for the national leadership of the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and prevent Aiyedatiwa and his supporters from disrupting the party's primary in Ondo State. He urged the party leaders to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process for the primary and the general election in November, as well as to meet the aspirations of the people of Ondo State for good governance.

In response, Kayode Fasua, spokesperson for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), dismissed the allegations as baseless, claiming they were made by "jittery aspirants" who are attempting to discredit the governor. Fasua asserted that the primary election is an internal affair of the APC and that all aspirants, including the governor, are treated equally in the party's internal electoral process.
