Senator Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), of orchestrating the purported suspension of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje from the party.
Basiru made these remarks during an APC Osun Central senatorial meeting at the party's secretariat in Osogbo. He criticized the suspension as a move by a "dying political party" and emphasized that it was not recognized by the APC.
He highlighted that the Kano High Court had vacated the interim injunction that initially suspended Ganduje and that a Federal High Court injunction had ruled that Ganduje's position as national chairman should continue pending the determination of the case.
Basiru also pointed out that the authentic executive committee of the party in Ganduje's ward had petitioned the Inspector General of Police regarding the criminal actions of those who forged party membership and officials' status.
Regarding the salary increment for workers, Basiru commended President Bola Tinubu for the decision, calling it a well-thought-out and sustainable development that would help mitigate the effects of removing fuel subsidy.
