Arsenal Eyes Summer Swoop for Nigerian Star Victor Osimhen

Arsenal is the latest club linked with a summer move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Reports from Italy suggest that talks are underway with the Napoli forward after Arsenal's top target, Benjamin Sesko, decided to stay at RB Leipzig by signing a new contract.

The 25-year-old Osimhen has expressed his desire to leave Napoli, with the Premier League emerging as a possible destination. Napoli's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is prepared to use Osimhen's €160 million release clause to fund new coach Antonio Conte's summer transfer plans.

Osimhen had a stellar debut season in Serie A, but injuries and a dip in form hindered his progress, contributing to Napoli's failed title defense. Chelsea initially showed interest in the Nigerian superstar, but a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, reportedly exceeding €40 million per season, has cooled their pursuit.

According to Il Roma (via calcionapoli24.it), last season's Premier League runners-up, Arsenal, have made contact with Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, to explore the possibility of a summer switch to the Emirates Stadium. This move could bolster Arsenal's attacking options as they aim to challenge for the title once again.
