Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, has shrugged off his Grammy loss to South Africa’s Tyla, stating that he doesn't see it as a defeat. The Nation reported that Tyla's track 'Water' clinched the inaugural Best African Music Performance award at the 66th Grammys, beating out Asake's 'Amapiano' and other Nigerian contenders.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, the 'Mr. Money With The Vibe' artist expressed optimism about future Grammy nominations and the possibility of winning next year. "It's not a loss for me. I might just get more next year. In my head, I was not even taking it too seriously," he remarked.
Regarding his mindset for his album, 'Work Of Art,' Asake explained, "People don’t really know me because I’m quiet. So everybody started seeing me as a mystery. 'Work of Art' is just for them to know me. You have to understand I’m human, but you can’t just deny the heart in me."
Asake's positive outlook and focus on his music suggest that he is determined to make his mark on the music scene, regardless of setbacks.
