Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia delivered a compelling address at the ‘Nigerian Professionals Event’ in Washington, DC, emphasizing the critical role of mobilizing Nigerian diaspora resources for impactful investments. He highlighted Benue's potential for economic growth and development through diaspora engagement, emphasizing the need to tap into the expertise, resources, and networks of the diaspora community.

Governor Alia outlined Benue State's development priorities under the ‘Renewed Hope agenda’, focusing on key areas such as security, agriculture, commerce, human capital development, infrastructure, ICT, and governance. He highlighted the administration's achievements in infrastructure development, urban renewal, and digitization of civil service operations, emphasizing the commitment to transparency and accountability in managing the state's finances.

The governor also discussed the administration's efforts to attract investments across sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, power, mining, healthcare, and water reticulation. He highlighted the restructuring of the Benue Investment Company & Property Company to facilitate Foreign Direct Investment and the collaboration with the Bureau for Public Enterprises to strengthen the state's PPP framework.

Governor Alia called on stakeholders, including diaspora communities and private sector partners, to collaborate in maximizing the impact of investments and ensuring sustainable outcomes for the people of Benue State. He reiterated the administration's commitment to prioritizing investments that generate positive social and environmental outcomes, inviting investors to explore the abundant opportunities available in the state.
