Controversial cross-dresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has allegedly revealed he paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in an attempt to secure a Federal Government pardon over money laundering charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). According to Bobrisky, the SAN had initially requested N10 million, but he couldn’t raise the full amount due to his frozen bank account. The revelation was made in a video shared by social media influencer, Martins Otse (VeryDarkMan), on Monday, October 7, 2024.

In the recording, Bobrisky disclosed that his godfather had stepped in to assist with the initial N5 million payment and provided him with a furnished apartment near the prison. He clarified that while many speculated he was incarcerated, he had not been in prison but was staying close by, thanks to his godfather's influence. Bobrisky explained that the Deputy Controller in Nigeria had arranged for him to remain outside prison as long as he stayed discreet.

Bobrisky also mentioned that he could be released as early as the first week of next month if the pardon request, submitted by the SAN, is approved. Despite facing legal issues, the cross-dresser jokingly posted on Instagram, saying, “Nurse Titi, your patient is out again,” along with laughing emojis, making light of the situation.

This revelation follows an earlier claim by Bobrisky that EFCC operatives had demanded and received N15 million to drop the charges against him. Additionally, he alleged that arrangements were made for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment rather than in prison, courtesy of his godfather and the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
