Borno

The Borno State Ministry of Education has instructed primary and secondary schools to adjust their schedules due to the ongoing fasting period of Ramadan. Alhaji Mustapha Bukar, the State Director of School Services, announced that schools will now close at noon instead of 1.30 p.m. during Ramadan. He also emphasized the need to discourage non-essential extra-curricular activities throughout the fasting period.

Furthermore, Bukar urged schools to complete academic activities, including examinations, for the second term of the 2023/2024 academic session by Friday, March 29. Subsequently, holidays are scheduled to commence from Saturday, March 30, to Sunday, April 28. Schools are expected to resume for the third term of the academic session on Monday, April 29.

The directive aims to accommodate the religious observance of Ramadan while ensuring the completion of academic requirements for the term. Schools are encouraged to adhere to the adjusted schedule to facilitate a smooth transition into the upcoming term.
