Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has vowed to ensure the safe return of all students abducted by bandits in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area. During his visit to the community to express condolences, Governor Sani assured that the government is collaborating with the school and community to ascertain the exact number of kidnapped students.
Governor Sani emphasized that efforts are underway to secure the release of the abducted children, with support pledged by President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. He urged the community to remain hopeful and assist the government in ensuring the safe return of the students.
Expressing his sympathy, Governor Sani assured the parents of the abducted children that the government is committed to their safe return. He noted that a security committee would be established in Kuriga, comprising community stakeholders, security agencies, and government representatives, to enhance security in the area.
Governor Sani also reiterated his support for the establishment of state police, stating that the Kuriga incident highlights the need for a standing police force drawn from the community. He emphasized that state police would be empowered to gather intelligence and bear arms, enhancing their ability to combat criminal activities effectively.
