CAN Urges Integrity and Humility in Leadership as Leaders and Others React During Easter

On the occasion of this year's Easter celebration, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on the nation's leaders to lead with integrity and humility. CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, urged Nigerian leaders to govern with compassion, wisdom, and the fear of God. He emphasized that the lessons of Easter hold particular relevance for Nigerian society today, highlighting the virtues of love and unity.

In Plateau State, the police imposed a ban on the movement of tricycles and motorcycles as part of efforts to ensure a hitch-free celebration. Southern Kaduna Christian leaders also urged the wealthy to remember the poor during Easter. Apostle Emmanuel Kure, Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), emphasized the need to promote harmony, tolerance, and love among all individuals and communities in Southern Kaduna.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio urged Christians to imbibe Christ's spirit of humility, love, and sacrifice during and after the celebration of His death and resurrection. He encouraged all Christians to show love to one another, their neighbors, and their leaders, emphasizing the importance of love, sacrifices, patience, and hope for a better future.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urged Nigerians to renew their hope in God and the prospects of a more vibrant nation. The party called on leaders at various levels of government to show more selflessness and empathy towards citizens, urging the Federal Government to address the high cost of essential commodities and services.

Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan encouraged Nigerians to keep faith and remain resilient in the face of challenges, noting that with faith, resilience, and unity, any adversity can be overcome. He called on Nigerians to reflect on their blessings, support one another, and work towards a better future for all.
