Comoros have secured a second-round showdown with Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games after demolishing Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.
The Comorians delivered one of the most dominant performances in recent qualifying history, defeating Sudan 17-0 in the first leg on June 3 before completing the rout with a 13-0 victory in the return leg five days later.
In the first encounter, Comoros took the lead after just eight minutes and never looked back, producing a ruthless attacking display that left Sudan with no answer. Nine different players found the back of the net as the Coelacanths showcased their firepower and squad depth.

They continued in the same fashion in the second leg on Monday, scoring three goals before halftime and adding 10 more in the second half to complete another emphatic victory.
The 30-0 aggregate triumph sends Comoros into the next round, where they will face a far more difficult challenge against Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the most successful women’s national team in Africa.
The Super Falcons are widely expected to be favourites heading into the tie. Under coach Justine Madugu, Nigeria recently recorded back-to-back victories over Senegal in friendly matches, winning 2-1 in the first game before securing a convincing 3-0 victory at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday.
The second-round Olympic qualifiers are scheduled to be played between October 5 and October 13, 2026.
Only two African teams will qualify for the women’s football event at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
