Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, refrained from making definitive statements about the future of striker Victor Osimhen, despite confirmation that the Nigerian star will leave the former Serie A champions this summer. The 25-year-old Super Eagles striker is seeking a move away from Serie A, but Napoli’s initial €150M release clause has reportedly deterred potential suitors like Chelsea and Arsenal.
Recent reports suggest Napoli might lower the valuation to €100M to generate much-needed transfer funds for Conte, who is eager to sign Belgian international Romelu Lukaku. During his unveiling, the 54-year-old ex-Juventus and Inter Milan coach acknowledged Osimhen’s status but avoided jumping to conclusions. "I know the situation with Osimhen very well, but I can't discuss previous agreements," Conte stated.
