Court Dismisses Suit Challenging Ganduje’s Appointment as APC National Chairman

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit seeking the removal of Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a ruling on Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo stated that the suit, filed by the APC North Central Group, was premature and dealt with matters that fall within the party's internal affairs.

Justice Ekwo further ruled that the group lacked the legal capacity to file the case, as it was not registered as a juristic entity. He also emphasized that the plaintiffs failed to utilize the party’s internal mechanisms for resolving disputes before bringing the matter to court.

The court held that the appointment of party officers by the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) is an internal issue that cannot be challenged in court. The APC North Central Group had argued that Ganduje’s appointment violated the party's constitution, as the chairmanship role was zoned to the North Central.

With this ruling, Abdullahi Ganduje's position as APC National Chairman remains secure, as the court reaffirmed that the party’s internal decisions are beyond judicial interference.
