Socialite Cubana Chief Priest, also known as Pascal Okechukwu, has cautioned Nigerians against getting into trouble with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over Naira abuse, citing his own unpleasant experiences.
Okechukwu, a nightlife promoter, recently appeared in court twice to defend himself against allegations of abusing the Naira, also known as "spraying." After pleading not guilty, he was granted bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like sum.
Following his second court appearance, Okechukwu took to Instagram, warning, "Better Stay Away From Their Wahala, I’m Sure You Will Not Love To Pass Through This Kinda Stress I’m Passing Through."
Notably, another socialite, Bobrisky, faced similar charges for Naira abuse but was unsuccessful in his defense and received a six-month jail sentence.
According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), actions that constitute Naira abuse include spraying, writing, stapling, tearing, soiling, selling, mutilation, and rejection of the Naira, all of which are punishable by law under the CBN Act.
