Cubana Chief Priest Granted N10m Bail in Naira Abuse Case

Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos State has granted Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, bail of N10 million with two sureties in like sum. The celebrity barman, who pleaded not guilty, faced charges of tampering with and abusing the naira during a social event, as reported by The Nation.

Cubana Chief Priest appeared before Justice Ogundare on three counts related to the abuse of the naira, allegedly spraying and tampering with the currency at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024. These actions were deemed to contravene the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The accused was accused of spraying N500 notes issued by the CBN during a two-hour dance at the event. He was granted bail with stringent conditions, indicating the seriousness of the charges.

The case has drawn attention due to the public nature of the alleged offence and the involvement of a well-known figure.
