Jacky Hathiramani, the Managing Director/CEO of Dana Motors, has praised President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for their significant investments in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as part of efforts to promote cleaner energy in Nigeria. Hathiramani highlighted the importance of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi), which has seen a $75 million investment from the federal government, designed to alleviate rising fuel costs and encourage cleaner energy adoption.
He also commended Lagos State for creating a conducive business environment and investing heavily in CNG infrastructure, encompassing exploration, production, storage, and retail. This holistic approach, he noted, involves partnerships with key stakeholders like Dana Motors, marking a pivotal step towards a sustainable energy future for the country.
Hathiramani reaffirmed Dana Motors’ commitment to leading the charge for a greener future by locally assembling Kia hybrid and CNG vehicles, in partnership with Portland Gas. He urged for widespread adoption of CNG, emphasizing its cost-effectiveness and economic benefits, while reducing dependency on traditional fuels. Dana Motors has long been at the forefront of providing innovative automotive solutions in Nigeria, with a state-of-the-art assembly plant in Lagos.
