The Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru, and Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, have called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence. In their separate messages to mark the Sallah celebration on April 10, they also prayed for Allah’s blessings for President Bola Tinubu, Muslims, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and the country.
Badaru commended the Nigerian military's dedication to nation-building and wished all Nigerians peace, blessings, and spiritual upliftment. He emphasized the importance of upholding virtues such as empathy, brotherhood, and resilience.
Matawalle urged Nigerians to draw lessons from Ramadan and strive for unity, compassion, and righteousness. He extended wishes of peace, joy, and spiritual fulfillment to all Nigerians and the Armed Forces, hoping for prosperity and happiness for the nation.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, encouraged troops to maintain the virtues of piety, honesty, tolerance, love, and unity embraced during Ramadan. He praised their sacrifices and dedication to safeguarding Nigeria, urging them to remain disciplined, resilient, patriotic, and courageous in their service.
Musa also appealed to all Nigerians to support the Armed Forces and remember fallen comrades in their prayers, emphasizing that addressing insecurity requires collective determination.
