The Department of State Services (DSS) has refuted media reports claiming that it invaded the Emir of Kano's Palace. Speaking to journalists in Kano on Thursday, the State Director of DSS, Muhammad Alhassan, dismissed the allegations as untrue.

Alhassan clarified that the DSS had deployed personnel to the palace to provide security for the scheduled visit of the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu. However, these personnel were withdrawn after the visit was postponed due to the Emir's absence from town.

"There is no iota of truth in the report alleging that DSS operatives stormed the Emir’s Palace in connection with the recent developments at the State House of Assembly," Alhassan stated. He urged the public to disregard the false and malicious reports, which he claimed were intended to cause unnecessary tension and misinformation.

The clarification comes amid significant developments in Kano, where the State House of Assembly repealed the Kano Emirates Council Law of 2019, leading to the dissolution of the Emirates of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye, and Rano.
