Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police took control of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday morning, securing the Alausa premises ahead of a critical plenary session.
The heightened security presence followed the controversial removal of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, ousted by 32 of 40 Assembly members on January 13, 2025, while he was in the United States. His removal has triggered division within the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) decision-making body in Lagos.
