Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has ordered an indefinite suspension of all state revenue collections, particularly in motor parks. This decision, announced in a statement by Fred Itua, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, requires that no revenue be collected on behalf of the state government until further notice.
Governor Okpebholo also directed the State Commissioner of Police to arrest anyone defying the suspension. The governor plans to review the concerns surrounding revenue collections and will soon provide further directives.
The statement emphasized, “The collection of revenues in the state has been suspended indefinitely. Anyone seen collecting revenues on behalf of the state government will be arrested.”
