Ekiti State Approves N4.15b for Road, Assembly, Agriculture, and Hostel Projects

The Ekiti State Executive Council has approved N4.15 billion for various development projects, including road rehabilitation, renovation of the House of Assembly complex, and advancements in agriculture. The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, revealed these details on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti.

A significant portion, N2.71 billion, has been allocated to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation for the rehabilitation of the De-Head to Faglo, Basiri Junction Road in Ado Ekiti. This project aims to ease traffic congestion, boost socio-economic activities, and improve security along the route, with completion expected within 12 months.

The state also allocated N701 million for the renovation and remodeling of the State House of Assembly Complex, which is scheduled to be completed in 12 weeks. Additionally, N229 million was approved for the procurement of tractors and other farm machinery to support the state's agricultural sector, with completion targeted in four weeks.

In a move to empower youth and boost agricultural productivity, N177.9 million was approved to clear 325 hectares of land for farming initiatives across five local governments. The state also ratified a N329.4 million contract for constructing a 100-bed hostel at Command Secondary School, Isan Ekiti, set to be completed in 12 weeks.
