Elon Musk’s Transgender Daughter, Plans to Leave U.S. After Trump’s Re-Election

Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk's transgender daughter, has announced her intent to leave the United States, citing discomfort with the political environment following Donald Trump’s re-election. Wilson, 20, expressed her decision on Threads, saying, “I don’t see my future in the United States… Even if he’s only in office for four years, the people who voted for this aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.”

Wilson, who was born Xavier Musk in 2004, legally changed her name and gender in 2022, also severing ties with her father by taking her mother’s maiden name. In court filings, she noted, “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way.” Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of X, has publicly acknowledged their strained relationship, describing her as a “communist” who rejects wealth.

Musk has openly voiced his opposition to gender-affirming treatments, calling puberty blockers “sterilization drugs” and describing gender dysphoria as “incredibly evil.” Reflecting on his daughter’s transition, he claimed, “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for Xavier.” He attributes her decision to what he calls the “woke mind virus,” stating, “I lost my son… They call it ‘deadnaming’ because your son is dead.”

In response, Wilson shared that Musk’s involvement in her upbringing was minimal, and that he frequently criticized her “femininity and queerness.” She stated, “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he simply wasn’t there. I was relentlessly harassed… reduced to a stereotype. That says a lot about how he views queer people and children in general.”
