Enugu State Governor, Peter Mba, praised President Bola Tinubu for the return of 14 luxury assets to the state by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, handed over the properties to Mba, which were initially forfeited to the Federal Government but now ceded to Enugu State.

During the assets handover ceremony, Governor Mba expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his proactive role in ensuring the return of the assets to Enugu State. He also commended Olukoyede's efforts in strengthening the EFCC and warned against attempts to weaken the commission.

Olukoyede, speaking before the handover, highlighted the longstanding process leading to the forfeiture, dating back to 2007. He emphasized the symbiotic relationship between the Federal Government and state governments, stating that governance can work in Nigeria. The EFCC boss officially handed over the properties to the people of Enugu State through Governor Mba.
