Manchester United has announced that Erik ten Hag has officially stepped down as first-team manager. Ten Hag, who joined the club in April 2022, led United to victory in the 2023 Carabao Cup and the 2024 FA Cup, marking two notable achievements during his tenure.
The club expressed its gratitude to Ten Hag, stating, "We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future."
Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed interim head coach. He will work with the current coaching staff as the club searches for a permanent manager to lead the team forward.
