Suspected hoodlums have killed a farm manager and kidnapped three individuals during a raid on two farms in the Sabon-Wuse community, Tafa Local Government Area, Niger State. The manager, who attempted to confront the armed attackers, was shot dead in the altercation.
Hussaini Abubakar, the Commander of the Security Vigilante in Tafa, confirmed that the bandits first abducted three people before fatally shooting the farm manager. Despite the violent attack, the assailants did not steal any cattle from the farms.
Niger State Police Command spokesman Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident, stating that two people were abducted. He assured the public that police efforts to rescue the victims are ongoing and emphasized that the police patrol team responded swiftly, though the attackers had fled before their arrival.
One of the victims, a security guard at a nearby poultry farm, sustained gunshot injuries and was taken to Umaru Musa Yar’adua Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police continue to pursue the assailants and are committed to securing the release of the abducted individuals.
