The Commissioner for Police, FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the FCT Police Command for the generous gesture of the FCT Minister, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, in fulfilling his promise to the Command.

The minister had tasked the FCT Command to track down and apprehend or eliminate two notorious bandit/kidnapping leaders who had been causing havoc in Abuja, particularly in the Bwari, Dutse Alhaji, and Kubwa areas.

He followed up his directive with decisive action by placing a ₦20 million bounty on the heads of these two notorious kidnappers on February 14, 2024. This action has been matched with tangible results, as the two wanted kidnappers have been arrested.

In a statement, the FCT Command praised the minister's leadership and quick response to enhancing the security and safety of residents. The Command expressed deep gratitude for his unwavering support in combating crime and ensuring the welfare of residents. The CP ensured that the bounty was distributed among the tactical teams and divisional police officers of the command to improve service delivery.

CP Igweh reassured the Minister and FCT residents that the command, under his leadership, would intensify efforts in the fight against crime and criminality, ensuring the safety of all residents. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police emergency lines.
