FCT Police Conduct Sweep of Suspected Kidnappers’ Hideouts in Abuja Hills

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command conducted a thorough search of suspected kidnappers' hideouts and routes in the hills and bushes surrounding Apo-resettlement in Abuja on Monday. This operation was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, and aimed to enhance security measures in an area known for being used by kidnappers and criminals.

The operation involved clearing illegal structures and bushes surrounding Zone A and B of Apo-resettlement and its environs. Additionally, police operatives were deployed for surveillance patrol to monitor the entry and exit routes to the hills, ensuring they are properly manned.

CP Igweh emphasized the importance of residents remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities to the police. This proactive approach is part of the police's efforts to curb criminal activities in the area.

In a similar operation, the Anambra State Police Command recently conducted a search of a kidnapper's hideout near the Awgbu community in the Orumba North Local Government Area. During this operation, they recovered an AK-47 rifle with two magazines loaded with 50 rounds of ammunition, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat crime across the country.
