Flood Cuts Off Taraba Community, Sparks Economic Crisis

Taraba

Residents of Peva town in Taraba State's Takum local government area are facing dire economic challenges after heavy rains washed away the road linking their community to nearby Adu village. Adu, a thriving agricultural hub, relied on the Peva market for economic transactions, but now finds itself isolated due to the impassable road.

Tertsea Chieve, a resident of Adu, lamented the devastating impact of the floods, which destroyed his rice farm and cut off essential access to the market. The road, previously vital for transporting goods and accessing services, has left farmers struggling with increased costs and logistical hardships.
