Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu Shinkafi, a former Special Adviser in Zamfara State, has expressed dismay over protests against former Governor Bello Matawalle, now Minister of State for Defence. He condemned the protests as sponsored and aimed at defaming Matawalle's character.
Speaking in Kaduna, Shinkafi insisted that Zamfara State urgently needs security, not sponsored protests. He described the allegations against Matawalle as frivolous, emphasizing that the Minister was performing excellently in his role.
Shinkafi criticized those behind the protests, alleging that they were enemies of Nigeria's progress seeking to undermine Matawalle's efforts. He praised Matawalle's performance as Minister and called for an end to the attacks against him.
He defended Matawalle against accusations of corruption, stating that during his tenure as Governor, they left substantial funds in the Zamfara State treasury. Shinkafi called on APC members in Zamfara to unite and focus on tackling insecurity rather than creating unnecessary problems.
He urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Zamfara to address the terrorism crisis and restore peace in the state.
