A major disaster was narrowly avoided on Sunday morning after the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) quickly responded to a fuel tanker crash at NEPA Roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way in Kaduna.
The incident happened in the early hours of the day when a loaded tanker fell at the busy roundabout, triggering fears of a possible fire outbreak and further accidents in the area.
According to the FRSC, the Kaduna Sector Command received an emergency call around 7:15am reporting the crash.

The Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said a rescue team from RS1.1 Kaduna was immediately deployed to the scene.
On arrival, FRSC personnel secured the area by shutting down all access roads leading to the tanker to prevent secondary crashes and reduce the risk of fire.
Traffic was also diverted to alternative routes to ease congestion and maintain movement within the metropolis.
