Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has congratulated His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II, on his reinstatement as the 14th Emir of Kano. Governor Fubara expressed great excitement upon receiving the news of Sanusi’s reinstatement, particularly as it coincides with Sanusi’s visit to Rivers State to support the administration’s economic initiatives.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara highlighted that the reinstatement by the Kano State Government reflects the true wishes and aspirations of the people of Kano, rectifying the March 9, 2020, dethronement which was widely seen as unjust.

Governor Fubara commended the Kano State Government for listening to the people and making amends for past wrongs. He urged the people of Kano to fully support the newly reinstated Emir to ensure his success.

Moreover, the governor called on Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, also a spiritual leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order, to lead the order’s over 50 million adherents in Nigeria with love, wisdom, and courage. He encouraged Sanusi to promote peace, justice, equity, and fairness in Kano.

Governor Fubara wished the 14th Emir of Kano a successful and fruitful reign that would bring progress and prosperity to the people of the state.
