Fugitive Former Oyo Park Management System Chairman, Auxiliary, Apprehended with Arms Cache

The Oyo State Police Command has apprehended Lamidi Mukaila, also known as Auxiliary, the former Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), who had been on the run. He was wanted for his alleged involvement in a series of armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder cases in the state.

Auxiliary was arrested by the Department of State Services at his residence in Olodo area of Ibadan. Upon his arrest, several exhibits were recovered, including an AK-47 rifle, magazines, live ammunition, pump-action rifles, a pistol, cut-to-size guns, and a large quantity of cartridges. Additionally, items such as cutlasses, knives, mobile phones, a laptop, charms, and vehicles were seized. A significant sum of cash was also found in his possession.

Commissioner of Police Adebola Hamzat stated that Auxiliary would be charged to court for his alleged crimes. He commended the public for providing credible information that led to the arrest and emphasized the police's commitment to dealing decisively with criminal activities in the state.

Hamzat urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, assuring them of the police's readiness to take immediate action. The successful operation was a result of intelligence-led efforts, technology, collaboration with other security agencies, and community policing. The arrest marks a significant step in curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety of residents in Oyo State.
