The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reasserted Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as its National Chairman, dismissing reports of his suspension by the Executive Committee of the Ganduje Ward in Kano State. APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka stated that the purported suspension was orchestrated by individuals impersonating ward officials, aiming to sow discord within the Ganduje Ward chapter. These individuals are reportedly affiliated with senior officials of the NNPP, not genuine APC members.
Morka condemned the alleged suspension as a criminal act, emphasizing that the legitimate Executive Committee of the Ganduje Ward has rejected the action and reaffirmed Ganduje's membership in the party. The APC has initiated a petition to the Inspector General of Police, urging a swift investigation to bring the perpetrators and their sponsors to justice.
The Kano State chapter of the APC has also announced its intention to take legal action against the ward leaders responsible for the suspension claim. Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, speaking on behalf of the ward and local government executive committee members, declared the suspension null and void. He stated that the party is suing the ward leaders for conspiracy, impersonation, and defamation, emphasizing that the purported suspension has no effect on Ganduje's position as the national chairman. Koko urged all party members to ignore the suspension and remain calm.
