A gas explosion at Tasiu Gas Plant in Sabon Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State has caused massive destruction following a failed gas transloading operation.
The incident, which occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday, set the gas station ablaze, destroying several parked vehicles and burning 550 bags of beans and six bags of soya beans at the nearby Ngeil Grains Processing Factory.
Confirming the incident, the Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Abdullahi Baba Arah, attributed the explosion to a gas transfer operation gone wrong. He stated that no lives were lost, and the fire had been brought under control.
The explosion comes weeks after the Dikko fire disaster, which claimed over 100 lives and left many injured.
