Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has unveiled Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Peace Shall Prevail), a bold initiative to tackle insecurity across the state. The program promises rewards of up to N5 million for credible information leading to the arrest of kidnappers, armed robbers, or the dismantling of criminal hideouts. Communities with zero crime rates will also receive N10 million monthly incentives.

The operation, launched on Saturday in Awka, mobilizes over 2,000 security personnel from the Nigerian Police, Army, Navy, DSS, Civil Defence Corps, and local vigilantes. To ensure effective coverage, the government has deployed 200 patrol vehicles to monitor every corner of the state.

To provide legal backing for the initiative, Soludo signed the Anambra State Homeland Security Bill 2025 into law. He also urged citizens to report crimes through a toll-free line, 5111, reiterating his administration’s commitment to making Anambra the safest state in Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of security agencies, Police Commissioner Nnaghe Obono-Itam praised the initiative, assuring residents of a collaborative approach to ensuring peace and safety. Soludo, in turn, called for collective action, emphasizing that "silence means complicity."
