Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has rewarded Nasarawa United with a sum of two million Naira following their thrilling 2-1 away win against Lobi Stars in Enugu on Wednesday, as part of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 36 action.
Governor Sule made the announcement on the club’s official WhatsApp platform, where he actively follows live updates on the team’s performances and activities. This reward comes as a fulfillment of his earlier pledge of N2.5 million after Nasarawa United's victory over Plateau United in Lafia.
In addition, the Governor’s Deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, has also shown his support by rewarding the team with N500,000 for their hard-fought victory over Lobi Stars.
The State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, presented the total reward to the club’s Chairman, Solomon Babanjah, and Captain, King Osanga, on behalf of both the Governor and Deputy Governor.
The game, held at the Cathedral Stadium in Enugu, saw Nasarawa United stage a remarkable comeback, defeating their zonal rivals 2-1 in a highly anticipated derby match. The victory in the 2024/25 NPFL season was a testament to the team’s resilience and determination.
