Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has strongly criticized the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for claiming that N18 billion was spent on renovating the Government House, Oke-Fia. Adeleke, who recently moved into the Government House after renovation, highlighted that the previous APC-led administration left the building in a state of disrepair.
However, the APC countered the governor's assertion, describing the renovation as a misallocation of resources. In response, Governor Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, refuted claims that his administration secured a loan to fund N100 billion worth of infrastructure projects in the state.
Rasheed emphasized, "We reject fake news that the state government spent 18 billion naira on the renovation of the Government House. It is a figment of the imagination of failed men of yesterday." He further stated that the current administration has not taken any loans since its inception and is committed to implementing infrastructure projects without borrowing, aiming to attract investors and boost the local economy.
Governor Adeleke urged the APC to acknowledge its failures while in power and commend the current government for its successes. He reiterated his administration's commitment to addressing the state's infrastructure deficit and promoting economic growth in line with its five-point agenda.
