Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has praised President Bola Tinubu for implementing tough policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria for growth. Speaking in Yola, Fintiri acknowledged that while the fuel subsidy removal is unpopular, it is a necessary step to boost productivity among Nigerians.
In a casual conversation with members of the state chapter of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Government House in Dougire, Fintiri emphasized that subsidies, including fuel, hinder real progress. He urged Nigerians to support these bold federal government policies, stressing that they are essential for the nation’s growth.
Fintiri highlighted the importance of facing real-life challenges and becoming more productive, noting that productivity is key to progress. Reflecting on his own experience as governor, particularly the controversy over demolishing the Jimeta Shopping Complex for a larger remodel, he acknowledged that change is often met with resistance.
He called on Nigerians to trust their leaders' intentions and support the necessary changes for the country's development.
