Governor Hope Uzodimma Urges Southeast Youths to Reject Calls for Protests

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has urged the youth in the southeast to ignore calls for protests against the government. Speaking in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, during the grand finale of the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign for the local government election, Uzodimma accused those promoting protests of being enemies of the country who seek to destabilize the national government.

The governor emphasized that the federal government, under President Bola Tinubu, is working hard to address the economic challenges faced by the people. As the chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, Uzodimma appealed to the region's people to give the government more time to resolve these issues.

“To the youths of the southeast, because we are on the path of growth, our enemies are trying to disorganize the national government. They will come to you, wanting you to protest. Ask those who want you to protest where their children are. Why must you be the one to protest and to protest against what?" Uzodimma questioned. He insisted that the current government is their government and that they should not feel aggrieved.

He acknowledged the hardships but assured that the government is making efforts to release funds, improve infrastructure, and enhance food security. Uzodimma called on the people to follow and work with their leaders.

Also speaking at the event, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje urged Nigerians to support the president in his efforts to improve the living standards of the people. Ganduje expressed confidence that soon, Nigerians would see the benefits of their support for the APC.
