Gunmen invaded the Bmuko Community in the Dutse Baupma axis of the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory on Monday night, kidnapping four residents. According to a resident, Mr. Isah, the gunmen arrived around 11:50 pm at the house of Engineer Patrick, taking his wife and brother, along with two others.
This incident follows previous attacks in the area, including the January kidnapping of 22 persons and the tragic death of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level student, after her father failed to pay a ransom. In February, bandits abducted two teenage sisters and demanded N30m ransom from the family.
Isah described how the kidnappers, numbering more than 30, split into two groups after the abduction, with one heading towards Kubwa and Bwari, and the other towards the hillside. Residents were terrified during the operation and could do nothing to stop it.
A community leader, speaking anonymously, stated that they had been demanding a Police outpost in the area, considering its population. The soldiers and police sent to search for the victims have yet to find them.
Efforts to confirm the report with the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful at the time of filing the report.
