Gunmen Kill Okada Riders Association Officer in Ekiti State

On Tuesday, gunmen killed Samuel Omoyajowo, an officer of the Okada Riders Association, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Omoyajowo was shot in broad daylight by two gunmen on a commercial motorcycle near the popular Okesa Roundabout. Witnesses reported that Omoyajowo was shot after asking the gunmen if they had obtained a ticket for the day.

The assailants fled immediately after the shooting, causing panic in the area. People nearby scrambled for safety, with many closing their shops and offices to avoid potential reprisals from the Okada union members.

The victim's body has been taken to the morgue at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital. DSP Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
