The Iranian-backed Lebanese Hezbollah movement has reported clashes with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon early Wednesday morning. According to Hezbollah, its fighters confronted an Israeli infantry unit attempting to infiltrate the town of Adaisseh, successfully forcing it to retreat. The militia claims that there were casualties on the Israeli side, although the Israeli military has yet to comment on these allegations.
Lebanese state news agency NNA indicates that Israel's military responded by shelling Adaisseh and surrounding areas with artillery, accompanied by air attacks. Reports also noted that Israeli forces fired flares in several villages, which are used to enhance visibility in combat zones and signal positions to ground troops and aircraft during nighttime operations.
