Supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Rivers State have expressed renewed hope for the governor's eventual reinstatement following his suspension, emphasizing their belief in President Bola Tinubu’s democratic principles. This optimism was shared during a widespread Easter praise session organized by the Simplified Movement, which took place simultaneously across all 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

The sessions, marked by lively singing, dancing, and collective prayers, served both as a celebration of Easter and a moment for members of the movement to reflect and offer encouragement. The movement's members gathered to voice their faith that the governor would be reinstated and that the ongoing political situation would soon come to a peaceful resolution.

In Ahoada, Stephen Ihua-Maduenyi, a prominent leader of the Simplified Movement, spoke passionately during the gathering, stating: “As you very well know, today is Easter Sunday. Our Lord, our Father, Jesus Christ, is resurrected. We are here to celebrate this and call on Him to bless us, just as He blessed mankind—believing that He can make it possible for our Governor to come back.”

Ihua-Maduenyi further emphasized that their hope rested not on their own efforts, but on divine intervention, saying, "Only He can do it for us. It is not by our power. It is His power. That is why we are gathered here."

Ovy Chukwuma, the suspended Commissioner for Education, also spoke with Channels Television, drawing a symbolic parallel between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the political struggles in Rivers State: “They tried burying us in Rivers State, but we are here to tell the world that we are alive. That Rivers State is alive. That Rivers State is with him—Governor Siminalayi Fubara.”

Both Ihua-Maduenyi and Chukwuma reinforced their belief in President Tinubu’s wisdom, noting that his actions, which led to the state of emergency in Rivers, would ultimately result in the restoration of normalcy in the state. They expressed confidence that Tinubu, as a democrat, was acting in the best interest of the people of Rivers State and that Fubara would soon be reinstated.

Despite the ongoing political turmoil, supporters of the movement remain hopeful that Rivers State will soon experience peace and a return to political stability. Their unwavering faith in the governor’s reinstatement continues to drive their efforts, as they stand firm in their belief that a resolution is on the horizon.
