Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Senator Victor Umeh, and State House Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on July 25. The Igbo leaders recognized the Ohanaeze president general's passing as a monumental loss to the Igbo community, Nigeria, and the international sphere.

Governor Soludo, in Awka, referred to Iwuanyanwu as a mentor and an influential figure, praising his exceptional leadership and dedication to Nigeria’s progress. He highlighted Iwuanyanwu's contributions to socio-economic development and his enduring legacy as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Senator Umeh lamented the loss of another national icon, comparing Iwuanyanwu’s passing to that of other prominent figures. Umeh emphasized that Iwuanyanwu's death, while still serving the Igbo nation, was a tragic loss, echoing the widespread sadness among the Igbo people.

Speaker Udeze paid tribute to Iwuanyanwu’s diverse accomplishments in engineering, journalism, and sports, calling him a true representative of Igbo interests. He urged affluent individuals to emulate Iwuanyanwu's selfless service and called for the federal government to immortalize him by naming a sports institution in his honor. Udeze extended condolences to Iwuanyanwu’s family and the wider community, praying for his soul's eternal rest.
