IGP Warns Against Undeserved Promotions, Vows Strict Penalties

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun issued a stern warning on Friday against officers seeking undeserved promotions through improper channels. Addressing the issue during the decoration ceremony of newly promoted senior officers in Abuja, the IGP emphasized that such misconduct undermines the integrity of the Police Force.

Egbetokun highlighted the practice where officers attempt to influence promotions through connections with influential figures. He declared a zero-tolerance stance on such behavior, stating that any officer found guilty would face disciplinary action.
