Imo Speaker Suspends Four Lawmakers Over Alleged Impeachment Plot

In a decisive move on Tuesday, Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Chike Olemgbe, suspended four members accused of plotting his impeachment. The lawmakers affected are Samuel Otuibe, Henry Agbasonu, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa, and Dominic Ezerioha, representing Ahiazu-Mbaise, Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Okigwe, and Oru-West respectively.

The decision to suspend them was reached during an executive session, where Olemgbe also announced the retrieval of all standing Committees from the suspended members. Additionally, minor reshuffling of standing Committees was undertaken during the plenary session.

When approached by the press, some of the suspended members declined to comment on the Speaker's actions, marking a tense atmosphere in the Assembly following the dramatic developments.
