Injured Victor Osimhen Trains Separately Amid Transfer Speculations

Osimhen

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has trained separately for the second consecutive day due to muscle fatigue, according to multiple sources in Italy, including Il Corriere dello Sport. Osimhen, who recently signed a contract extension with Napoli including a €130m release clause, has been working in the gym rather than joining his teammates on the pitch.

Despite the contract extension, no club has yet paid the release clause for the 25-year-old Nigerian star. Osimhen has started pre-season training under Antonio Conte at Dimaro in Trentino Alto Adige, amid ongoing transfer rumors linking him to Premier League clubs as well as Al Ahli and PSG.

French tabloid L’Equipe has hinted that PSG may soon relaunch their pursuit of Osimhen during the summer transfer window. However, PSG would first need to offload strikers Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos before stepping up their chase for the Super Eagles striker.

Meanwhile, Arsenal has reportedly abandoned plans to sign Osimhen due to his hefty price tag of over £100 million. The Gunners have also dropped their interest in Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres, whose €86m release clause is seen as a hindrance, with both players unlikely to join Arsenal without guaranteed starting positions.
