The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released an additional 531 results of the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), bringing the total number of released results to 1,842,897. This was announced by the Board's Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement in Abuja.
Dr. Benjamin stated that the Board had screened over 64,000 withheld results due to cases of examination misconduct, leading to the discovery of 92 additional cases of misconduct. The Board is also addressing cases of unverified candidates and will soon provide a position on them.
He also addressed misinformation, particularly regarding an unknown candidate who allegedly obtained scores in the 2024 UTME without sitting for the exam. Dr. Benjamin called these claims fake and malicious, aimed at undermining the Board's integrity, and urged the public to disregard such publications.
The Board's examination template is designed with a high sense of responsibility and does not allow scores to be doled out to candidates. Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the Board's integrity remains intact and urged candidates to avoid disclosing their classified details to third parties.
To combat misinformation, the Board will add more features like registration numbers to the existing UTME result checking process, making it more difficult for results to be edited. Candidates are advised to securely keep their details and avoid associating with mischievous elements, as they will be treated as collaborators.
The method of checking the 2024 UTME result remains sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 and not through any other process. The results are currently not available on the Board's website.
